The Counting Crows Show

We had a great time at the show and I'll post some pictures a bit later. I'm slightly hung over, but not too bad. The show itself was a little more jambandesque than I prefer--made it difficult to sing along, which I love to do at concerts. Of what I knew, since I don't know the new album, this is a list of what they played:
Perfect Blue Buildings
A Long December
Goodnight Elisabeth
Mr. Jones
Hanging Around
Rain King
Walkaways
Rain King was really cool, they did a bluegrass intro courtesy of Augustana. Throughout, the song mingled with The Beatles' (and sometimes Joe Cocker's) "A Little Help from My Friends" (which personally reminds me of Kevin and Winnie ;)) and Mr. Jones. I loved the repetition of "beautiful" which has always been a Counting Crows theme. All in all, it was a good show. I only wish it had been longer, and perhaps a bit less of the ultra-popular songs.

Brian and I went to the show too! Too bad we didn't know you were going to be there, we could have met up. I enjoyed the Counting Crows, but had to leave after a few Maroon 5 songs since we couldn't keep our babysitter (Brian's mom) out until the wee hours of the night. Fortunately, I don't really care about Maroon 5 anyway. It was the Counting Crows that I went for. I agree with you that it was a little hard to sing along.

My sister and my new brother in law came with Mark and I. We didn't even stay for any of Maroon 5, how were they? The kids spent the night with my parents, but Mark was mostly humoring me in going in the first place (The Counting Crows are soooo not his thing) so we were in and out. Waaaay up in the "nosebleed" section so we couldn't see a thing. My girlfriend (who loves the Crows) was supposed to go with us, but couldn't at the last minute. Meanwhile, I guess another friend had backstage passes--wish I'd known that!!

Wayyy late chiming in, but you know I'm a tad jealous right? Even in the whole "going to a concert" thing. Hawaii definetly has it's downfalls. I'm so read to leave here!
